I will be Nigerian President in 2015"- Governor Rochas Okorocha

IT may not have come to the knowledge of many, that the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, is contesting in next year's presidential election. Below is what he said during his declaration at a rally on Monday Nov. 10th.

“My people, in 2015 I will be the president of the country. Three months ago when I said I want to be president they asked, “Can an Igbo man be president? But now when they count those contesting for president they will first count Rochas Okorocha, before Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and Kwankwaso. When they said they have zoned the presidency to the North, I asked, When was the meeting held? Now we have zoned it to Igboland. In 2015, there will be a turnaround in the fortunes of  'Ndigbo'. They only know themselves; they don’t care about Igbo. APC is an emergency party for a new Nigeria; I would not have joined APC if PDP was doing well. We will defeat PDP in 2015,”

Smart Ways to Live Your Life with Purpose

7 Smart Ways to Live Your Life with Purpose

Even though a sense of purpose is an indispensable part of a happy life, many people fail to name their ultimate goal. Every day they return home, prepare their dinner, watch TV and go to bed. It doesn’t look like a meaningful life at all.  I’ve realized that purpose isn’t something random, you have to make great efforts to find some meaning in your life and see your ultimate goals. Here are seven tips you will find useful.

1. Learn to be self-aware

It’s the very first obstacle you face when you want to live a more meaningful life. People tend to overrate their strong points and belittle their weak points. This prevents them from seeing the real state of things. However, if you want to find your life purpose you should learn your true self first of all. Be realistic and don’t be afraid to face your imperfections. When you know your personality you have better chances to figure out your purpose and stick to it.

2. Find your passion

That’s what really gives us the sense of purpose. What do you love to do most? If you still cannot give answer to this question, you risk living a useless life. I’m strongly convinced that everybody should have some passion to pursue in this life. Your passion makes your life worthwhile and meaningful. When you find your passion, you’ll find an opportunity to give back this world. If your current job doesn’t make you enthusiastic, try to train for a new career and become a professional in what you’re doing.

3. Keep things simple

Scattering your attention on trifles can greatly complicate your life. Keep it simple. Learn to define unimportant things and just ignore them. Not only will it help you to feel less overwhelmed, you’ll also see the core of things more clearly. It will also enable you to alleviate stress and be more satisfied with your life. Don’t complicate your relationship, don’t bother what other people think about you and don’t pretend to be someone else. A simple life doesn’t mean a meaningless life, it’s just about concentrating on important things.

4. Make use of goal setting

Recognizing your goals isn’t enough; you should learn to set right goals. You’ll never succeed if you just strive for success. The same is with happiness. Your goals should always be accurate, realistic and defined by time frame. Setting short-term and long-term goals can add a great meaning to your life. When you see the direction, it’s easier to stay motivated and determined. It’s exactly your goals that make you get up earlier and work hard. Plus, you’ll be able to use your time and energy more effectively, thus you’ll be more productive.

5. Surround yourself with people who make you feel better

Just like some infections, some people are contagious in nature.
Try to avoid toxic people who are constantly complaining, criticizing, nagging or whimpering, otherwise you will never learn to live a happier life. You know that habits are contagious and even if you don’t intend, you adopt the behavior of those who are around you. So make use of it! Surround yourself with people who can teach you something useful. Use every opportunity to communicate with a smart person and learn something new and helpful.

6. Stay inspired

I know, it may be hard to stay inspired each day, but you should really do your best to avoid getting stuck in day-to day activities and look for inspiration. Prize yourself for little achievements, read inspirational books, or get in touch with your friends. You can find a lot of things out there to always stay inspired. Traveling and learning something new are also great inspiration boosters. If you often compare yourself with other people, you should break this wasting habit right now. Try to draw inspiration from what you have.

7. Never underrate the role of your family

While thinking about their ultimate goal, many people imply only their job and underrate the importance of their family. However, family was and always will be your biggest support and help. You may become a first-rate professional, but if you fail as a parent, your life can be hardly called meaningful. Never sacrifice your family for career or achievements. Your job will never fulfill the emptiness inside you like a family will. Ultimately, everything that matters is your children’s health, happiness and well-being.

You will find it difficult to follow all the tips at once, but you can start with small steps and gradually incorporate all the habits into your life. Regardless of your purpose, you should do your best to achieve it. A meaningful life will give you the feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction and you’ll feel happier every day.

Nigerian Politicians Deserve 'Huge Salaries' - Bachaka

Naij.com

Chief Whip of the Nigeria Youth Parliament Ahmed Bachaka, who is also aspiring to become a member of Kebbi State House of Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) shares his views on politics.
One of the questions by the correspondent was about whether it was fair that politicians receive “huge salaries”.

Not feeling trapped by the challenge, Bachaka answered:
“I think Nigeria is going through a developmental process and growing stages in our democracy; eventually we will graduate to an almost perfect stage. At the moment, the huge emolument is intended to serve the people better.”

Hmm! this is laughable - "na lion share go make them do their job? "

Fomer Governor of Lagos state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Fomer Governor of Lagos state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu

PDP And INEC Have Joined Forces - Tinubu...

Former lagos state governor Bola Asiwaaju Tinubu has revealed that the Peoples Democratic Party are now working with the Independent National Electoral Commission to make sure the All Progressives Congress(APC) losses the Lagos state 2015 elections.
Tinubu also said that three parties had joined to make a formidable APC to challenge the already strong PDP, but now INEC has merged with PDP to win overwhelmingly in 2015.
Tinubu was speaking yesterday in Lagos and berated INEC for its conduct of the PVC distribution.
He said, “Just as we (APC) merged to form a formidable opposition party, they have merged with Jonathan to form a formidable rigging machine.
“This exercise is a colossal failure. INEC has the responsibility to give us a date when the exercise would start which they did. They were the ones that picked the date. On the eve of the exercise, they announced they could only carry out the exercise in 11 Local Government Areas out of the 20 recognised by the Federal Government.
“Rather than outright boycott, we endured the frustration and appealed to the public to participate. Our field report and personal experiences indicated that the exercise in those 11 LGAs failed and it is unacceptable. In some instances, you didn’t find INEC and then in some, they did not start on time.”Tinubu said if four months to the election, INEC had yet to put its house in order, it was safe to say that the commission could not conduct a free and fair election next
He also demanded INEC explain how and why it reduced the number of registers voters in Lagos state from 6.2 million to 4.8 million.
He said, “You cannot automatically, without a court of law, disqualify them, you can only suspend them and give them another opportunity to register. To me, this exercise has failed, it is not acceptable, and we consider it as a rigging exercise. INEC has colluded with the presidency and the opposing party to rig the election from the data to the end.
Fashola had also earlier blasted INEC chiefs for what they described as inexcusable behavior by the electoral body, demanding INEC account for the missing 1.4 million voters.
 WOW! This is seriously serious.

AGAIN: Boko haram reportedly captures another town in Adamawa www.ifeanyiugwuanyi.blogspot.com

A report from a Maiha resident alleged that militants attacked the area at 5:30pm local time, when security agents left for Belel district, about 48km away. The source also says that many soldiers and two civilians have died. Many are also reported to be badly wounded.
Reports also suggest that many persons fleeing Maiha and nearby Belel are crossing the border to Cameroon.
"The insurgents have full control of Maiha," the resident told our correspondents. "People of Belel and others are crossing the border to Cameroon, which is not more than a kilometer to cross."

Well, i must say that something is amiss somewhere, i mean that this is getting out of hand. Did you know that Boko haram have claimed over 19,000 lives and property running into millions of dollar?     Who is to blame?        Some stakeholders have tried to point accusing fingers on the government while others consider a number of other variables, however, i wonder what your take is.
